What is GDPR?
GDPR stands for General Data Protection Regulation and came into force on 25 May 2018, replacing the previous Data Protection Directive (Directive 95/46 / EC).
Its main purpose is to make it easier for everyone in the European Union to control their personal data and to unify the regulatory environment for international companies. Even if your company is not based in the European Union, but works with customers in Europe, the GDPR is mandatory for you.
We have introduced various functions in our openmedic platform to ensure that GDPR is correctly implemented in your hospital intranet.
The focus is on giving the user control over his or her data.
Individual Rights of GDPR
Right to be Informed
With openmedic you can define the content for the specific Terms of Use and Privacy Policy of your hospital. This enables you to inform your intranet users about how and which data is processed and stored in your intranet.
In addition, when registering an intranet account, a user must confirm that he or she has read and agrees to your hospital's Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
Right of access and right to rectification
openmedic enables users to access, view and edit personal data during the registration of an intranet account.
In this context openmedic offers hospitals the possibility to define the data necessary for the registration of a user account. User information such as name, email, password, language and time zone are the minimum requirements for using the platform.
Right to erasure
Every user can cancel his intranet account at any time.
This enables the user to completely delete all his or her data. This includes, among other things, the personal data of the user as well as contributions, comments, events, articles, photos and documents.
Right to data portability
The importance of the right to data transfer is that users can export and retrieve all their personal data in a machine-readable format.
For this purpose, every user of your hospital intranet can completely export his or her data by simply selecting the data he or she wants to export and download.
